14th Malaysian General Election (GE14), held on Wednesday, 9 May 2018 for members of the 14th parliament. In an unprecedented victory, the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition won a simple majority in the Dewan Rakyat together with the Sabah Heritage Party securing 121 seats. The election heralded the first regime change in Malaysia history, as the erstwhile ruling Barisan National (BN) coalition which had enjoyed an uninterrupted reign over the country since Malaysia's independence in 1957. In the state elections held for 12 of the State Legislative Assemblies, PH retained Pahang and Selangor and captured Kedah,Perak,Negeri Sembilan,Melaka and Johor from BN.
